After more than 20 years working for other companies I found myself in an industry in the midst of a mass exodus to China searching for inexpensive commodity type fabrics. The fun and excitement of working with high quality design and color was quickly fading so in 2002 I established Charles  Martel Associates and headed to Europe. First to Italy, then to Belgium, looking for the artistry and craftsmanship I believed our industry needed, and more importantly, couldn't afford to lose. I began sourcing high quality textures, jacquards, and velvets and quickly filled this void in our industry. Today our manufacturing customers rank among the most important in the US, and I'm still having fun.
